According to a recent news post on Variety, Berenice Bejo, from The Artist and Le Passé fame, is set to join the cast of Brady Corbet’ directorial debut, The Childhood of the Leader.

Bejo is said to be replacing Juliette Binoche, as the Paris-born actress had to drop out due to scheduling conflicts. This means Bejo will star alongside Robert Pattinson, Tim Roth and Michael Epp.

The Childhood of the Leader is “a look at the childhood life of a a post-World War I leader.” according to the synopsis on IMDB, and the reason everyone should be exited is the fact that it marks the directorial debut of Corbet and is co-written by Mona Fastvold. Corbet and Fastvold co-wrote, The Sleepwalker, together – a movie that had a limited release earlier this year – and it’s one of the best movies thus far in 2014. It marked the feature film directorial debut for Mona Fastvold, and stared Brady Corbet as one of the main characters, alongside Christopher Abbott, Gitte Witt and Stephanie Ellis.

They seem to work exceptionally well together,  and seeing as The Sleepwalker shared a few similarities with Corbet’ latest movies – Simon Killer, Martha Marcy May Marlene – it will be interesting to see where they take it this time.
