New video from Buraka som Sistema

It has been three years since we last saw an album from the cosmopolitans in, Buraka som Sistema. Since then, they have released quit a few impressive and progressive tracks, blending modern day electronic dance beats, with the so called “Sound of Kuduro” which is present in all their songs.

Today they have released, Buraka, with a track list of 10 songs – including singles like, Stoopid and Vuvuzela (Carnaval). One of which has gotten the music video treatment. The video for Vuvuzela (Carnaval) is directed by João Pedro Moreira, who’s done most of their videos so far, and throws us head first into the world of Buraka. Most of it is shot with a stereoscopic lens, which presents an illusion of a 3D depth of field, and while it could be inspired by their friend and collaborator M.I.A., they do it justice in more ways than I can count.

Anyone who’s ever seen them perform, either through YouTube or a live show, knows exactly how exceptional they are at the art of dance and movement. This rings true for Vuvuzela as well, and as the video crosses its halfway mark, we are thrown into a container where everything comes together to form a unique, yet recognisable, trap music dance scene. It’s pure fun and adrenaline, in a way few bands can match.

Now watch the video, then go listen (and dance) to Buraka.
